This is probably one of the top 3 games I have ever played in my life.

Like others have said before me, this is a game where you run a dungeon and try to annihilate one or more rival dungeon keepers, as well as the parties sent by the good people of the Earth.

What really sets this game apart from so many other, even more popular, titles, is its pervasive sense of humour. For instance: if you don't pay your creatures, they'll start destroying your dungeon and fighting amongst themselves; one of you creatures (mistress) enjoys being spanked; other (bile demon) farts your enemies to death; death hounds like to pee on the graveyard, where vampires rise to join your army; every creature does a little dance when you throw them some extra gold; but if you slap them, they'll start to work/train faster; you can make sacrifices to the gods and be rewarded... or punished. This game is sheer madness.

The playability is excellent, the computer assistance can be customised and if you want to, you can possess one of your creatures to fight and explore the realm.

Weak spots: it is true that the graphics are dated but this is such a well designed game that you'll soon forget about it. Another problem is the fact that, in most early levels, it is quite easy to beat other dungeon keepers because the less-than-perfect AI refuses to gather resources (gold). But this package also includes the Deeper Dungeons, which are considerably harder than most of the original DK levels.

Overall, this is definitely a fantastic game. Well worth the buy.

I got this game free when I resubscribed to PCZone and it is probably the most addictive game I have ever played. An odd scenario where you run a dungeon - training creatures from hell and using wizards, trolls, imps, dragons, spiders, vampires, hell hounds and numerous other weird and wonderful things to build an army strong enough to take on the Lord of the Land. The ambience immerses you in a land of power but as a strategy game you have to balance this power with brains. I say this is the most addictive game I have ever played because there is so much going on and each scenario is different everytime you play - strange things happen at different times of year, like if there is a full moon you get to play a bonus level. This game just has to be played to be believed simply because it is very hard to describe but needless to say both my wife and I have spent endless nights trying to reinforce our dungeon walls, lay gas traps, build rooms, pay wages and launching sneaky attacks on unsuspecting heroes.

A fantastically addictive game which combines role playing elements (creatures leveling up) as well as building up a formidable dungeon. Slightly outdated graphics but an all round excellent buy and it now comes with the Deeper Dungeons giving 12 extra difficult levels of fun. I highly recommend this game to everyone!!
