Amazon.co.uk Review It was no surprise that the first Harry Potter games were a huge success, but what was unusual was that they were actually pretty good. Millions of fans will be pleased to hear that the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets game is even better. Taking its visual and audio cues from the movies but sticking closer to the book than a two-hour film ever could, the PS2 game begins as Harry starts his second year at Hogwarts despite an ominous warning from Dobby the House Elf. At its heart Chamber of Secrets is a 3-D platform game, similar to Super Mario or Jak & Daxter, with the same basic controls being used for the majority of the game. However, the nature of the story means the game is peppered with various mini-games and side quests, including Quidditch and Wizard duels. In between the major quests you get a chance to explore Hogwarts, which is impressively massive and filled with hidden secrets--the collecting of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans being of particular importance since they can then be traded with Ron's brother for everything from Famous Witches and Wizards Cards to upgrades for your Quidditch kit. If the game has only one fault it's the extremely long and unusually frequent loading screens that keep popping up, and which you soon get very tired of seeing. It's not nearly enough to ruin the game though, which must go down as one of the best book/movie conversions of all time. --David Jenkins

The best game i've ever played !!! July 30, 2006 Mrs. Gail Hickling (Norfolk , UK) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
One thing's for sure you will not get bored because i just finished the game yesterday so it has taken me 4 years to finish. The graphics are not perfect because it is quite old. This game is very addictive and there is a very big area to explore. The whole story is exactly the same as the book and movie so you know were you are. After the credits at the end you are given the chance to stay in the common room and browse through 'Colin's Photo Album' so you can re-visit levels and collect more witch and wizard cards. But the down side is that you need to wait a quite a while when the game is loading up and the guy who tells the story is VERY annoying. But believe me this game can be quite challenging at times but you will get through it (without any cheats). So buy it,it is well worth the money because it gives you years of entertainment !!!

I was bought the first game for xmas, then the following year got this... the graphics are so much better - it completely blows the socks off the first one.The castle's much bigger, the grounds are interesting, there are loads of extra mini games and lots of flying. The big-bad at the end is really easy to beat, once you've worked out how, but there are some really difficult bits. Enjoyed it so much, I've just ordered the PS2 version of the first game as it is set in this Hogwarts rather than the first one. Can't wait for the 3rd game. On the downside... I had no life with this game until I completed it, much to the boyfriend's disgust as it was his PS2!

Good game free-roaming is fun exploring the castle of Hogwarts and their grounds. You may think that the game would be very easy as harry potter and all things related are aimed at kids but at some points the game can become frustratingly hard, i traded it in because i got stuck then figured out how to do it some keep at it people. Watch out for the Avifors and Incendio challenges
