Amazon.co.uk Review To the uninitiated, the farming simulator Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town may not sound like a barrel of high-octane arcade thrills. But as anyone who's played any of the previous Harvest Moon games will know, what the series lacks in button-bashing excitement it more than makes up for in charm and addictiveness. The game begins with you gaining ownership of a rundown farm; it's then your job to plant crops, raise livestock and reap the rich rewards of a country life. Fortunately (or not) this is a dairy farm, so although you milk cows and collect eggs there are no unpleasant visits to the abattoir. Instead you spend your time pulling out weeds, watering crops and making sure you're back in time for a good night's rest. To ensure that things don't get dull (and if that's all you did it would be excruciatingly so) there's a whole town to explore, with lots of mini-games to play and various shops to explore. Visiting the town also allows you to pursue the game's other main goal: to get married. There are six beauties for you to try and tempt into wedlock with flattery, gifts and the odd favour. With a link-up option to the GameCube version (which among other things gives you access to an exclusive seaside cottage) this is one of the most unusual and engrossing games around. So don't be put off by the lack of explosions: this is one of the best GBA games yet released. --David Jenkins

omg this game is so awsome its like the sims but even cooler. you get to raise chickens, cows, sheep, grow crops, fall in love, and do lots of cool mini games at festivles and stuff. IT ROCKS!! i KNOW BUILDING UP A FARM MAY SOUND BORING BUT IT IS SO ADDICTING! ive been through 12 years in about a year and a half. Yes im obbsessed with it but who can blame me try it and you will see what i mean Its Awsome! good luck!

This is an amazingly addictive and fun game, i haven't got animal crossing but i am not planning to yet as i still haven't got an extension to my chicken coop! (you can see what this game does to your life) It is what everybody hopes for in a game; it is the sims of the game boy world (sims for GBA is rubbish) I suppose you may not want to buy it, if you want to keep a normal life, but otherwise i would scroll right back up and buy this thing!
Awesome game December 21, 2006 Beechy 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I luv HM:FOMT. It is a life sim where you have to take control of a farm, and earn money from crops, animals and anything else you find, whilst trying to find a wife. It is totally addictive, but can be repetitive especially when there are no festivals. Also I personally think that Animal crossing (biggest competitor) is better and is more worth the money. But like I said this is a great game. Also this version (GBA) is the best. I recently played USA version of Harvest Moon DS, and it is a slight let down. So I think if you are a fan of HM, or are new to it, this should be in your collection.
totally addictive April 12, 2006 Ms. A. Neary (england) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i've owned every harvest moon ever made and this is by far the best it's a total remake of harvest moon: back to nature, but with more stuff to do after awhile it does get boring, after about 15 years in-game time. Other than that it is very addictive game, great for all the family. you can get married, have a baby, unlock other house's, grow crops and get some animals: chickens, cows, sheeps and horse's also get to know the residents and learn secret recipes :)
It's simply the best October 17, 2005 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Sorry bout the cheesy title, but this is such a good game. It seems pretty boring, running a farm, but it's fun, it tests your brain and it's totaly addictive! Not only do you grow crops, but you raise animals, get married have kids, make money, make friends, play games, and theres so much hidden things, yo can't get bord, you always find new things, i thuraly (i can't spell) recomend it!
