Amazon.co.uk Review In a nutshell: Help your Sims start their own business. From toy shops to restaurants, the world is your oyster - buy a plot of land and then fashion an empire to make Alan Sugar belch. The lowdown: The idea of a Sims business tycoon game may seem odd, but this is a surprisingly fun and accessible expansion. Although you can stay at home and create items to sell, most businesses are run from a new shopping centre area, which you can also visit separately. To run a shop you buy objects as normal, and then display and price them individually, or in bulk for your store. Running a restaurant or other service is more a case of creating the right mood with furniture and staff. You can hire and fire employees as you want, but it's worth being as hands-on as you can because you gain a wide range of new skills from the work you do. Most satisfying moment: Starting with a lemonade stand and building up your business empire until you can afford to buy any plot of land in town. Since you ask: As well as all the business tycoon elements the game also features 125 new items, including display cases, workbenches, cash registers and more. The bottom line: Another surprisingly generous and innovative expansion pack. Harrison Dent

Challenging but good addition January 3, 2009 Lateau (UK) This is definitely an expansion that adds new areas of gameplay rather than simply enhancing the overall experience. The pack comes with some very nifty additions that do add to the game overall. The business part itself does require a lot of time and effort to master. Whilst you are trying to build your little empire, you have to deal with the needs and whims of customers as well as the needs of the staff. There are not enough hours in the day to develop the business so some skillful usage of time is a must. If you want a bigger Sims 2 experience then this is definitely the pack.
sims 2 buisness is complicated - not much fun! December 21, 2008 ***** Florencium ****** (UK) This computer game I just didn't get. It's really complicated and you don't get that much extra stuff (like cars or clothes etc). You are meant to build your own buisness and earn money, or extra money. Once you have really got going at a new buisness, though, it is good fun, but that is just about the only highlight! I wouldn't really recommend this much, unless you are very good at the computer and know how to work these sort of things!!
Adds a lot of fun! November 30, 2008 Olivia Stanley (UK) This game requires a little extra effort when playing. The only reason I gave it four stars was because it only adds to the game play when you add the effort. Unlike expansions such as seasons, (which adds to your game without you thinking about it), you have to create the business and run it to see the effects of the expansion. However, when I do play the expanison, it is fantastic. It can be hard to create a successful business, stopping it from being boring. You become glued to the game, trying to create a business that will start gaining your family money, be popular with its customers and give you businesses perks. There are lots of little additions and a lot of effort has been taken to make this expansion, making the game play more enjoyable. Although it can be hard to create a successful business, the concept of running the businesses isn't too difficult to understand. There is a businesses toolbar in the game, making the business feature much easier to use. This is a great expansion, especially if you are a little bored of your sims game and feel like a challenge or new interest.

Finally, an expansion worth you money! August 11, 2008 Mrs. Louise J. Alden-court (Shropshire, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think it's fair to say that Maxis have effectively bled the Sims 2 series dry, making a LOT of money from it. In this expansion, I believe you actually get something new. Creating a business is probably the most rewarding experience I've ever had on the sims, and the most challenging. From managing your employees, to making sure you're not out of stock, things can get a little stressful but that didn't stop me from making a three storied furniture store! This game is undoubtabley a challenge, even more so to the regular Sim fan. I'd only get this if you want a completely new Sims experience and are up for figuring out the kinks. Best expansion to date for the series.
