5 out of 5 stars Brilliant Game   July 24, 2008
    Mr. T. D. Ramazankhani (London)
The first thing you realize is Resident Evil is unlike any Res Evil game you played before. Its now more of a shoot them up, rather than a point and click adventure/action which the previous games looked similar to. Your pushed straight into the action, rather than a complexed story. The makers of the game have given Res Evil a brilliant make over, while losing its rather tedious back and forth missions and constantly stuck in the same location as the previous games did, its pushed it to the next level. Your constantly tense, never safe, and theres always an action packed battle sequences to tend with. A definite must !

1 out of 5 stars Fun game, terrible re   May 3, 2008

I recentely purchased this game and i tried to give the new changes a chance but this is the worst re (inc uc).

This game gives us too much ammo, all the enemies you can kill and a dodgy del boy merchant, hobbit, cave trolls, generic army man (wesker 2).

What happened to the claustraphobic environments, jump scares, good music for areas, hopelessness etc, it's nowhere in this aside from the cabin bit and the beginning where you have to fight for your life.

I applaud capcom for giving mind controlled enemies a try, but it's only a good idea on paper and the series could've found another way to evolve properly.

All I can say is i feel sorry for capcom for destroying a legendary series in order to get more fans and get rid of most of the old fanbase.

All a lot of people want now is neck breakers, suplexes, strafing, more weapons then you can hold etc, i liked re for the story, atmosphere and horror, the story was ripped off from time crisis, and mgs conversations on the radio destroyed the whole point of being alone in this.

All i can say is bravo capcom, you've now made re for mindless zombies, which is why they aren't in future installments.

I'll rent re5 or burrow it off someone when it's out, but that's it, its's re4 with ganados in africa and a rambo sized chris, lol.

5 out of 5 stars Resident Evil   April 26, 2008

I love this game it is one of my preferred Resident Evil games because it is differant but not that differant it ruins the series. The gameplay is a huge leap foward even though i orefer the set camera angle on a 2D backdrop this is even better the enemies don't hide behind the corner so you can't see them. The enemies AI is good they climb ladders go up stairs and attack you with Chainsaws. I was surprised of how good this game is as i was a little reluctant to buy it but i recommend this to any horror fan or game fan in general.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best games you will ever play.   March 23, 2008

I was not a huge fan of Resident Evil games, but received Outbreak 2 days before deciding to buy Resident Evil 4. First, I played Outbreak and didn't think much of it, but when you tart to play Resident Evil 4 - the chances are you won't stop for a long time, the game is simply amazing and has an up-to-date aiming system that makes shooting easier and much more fun. Along with GTA:San Andreas and Tekken 5 this is one of my favourite PS2 games of all time and is well worth spending anything up to 20 on. Great game.

3 out of 5 stars okay, but another game compared to Res Ev. 2 and 3   January 15, 2008

I won this game for about 4.00 off ebay a few weeks ago, and completed it in less than a week.

The previous games on the Playstation and PC- Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, were really survival horror RPGs. This game however, is just 100% mindless shoot-em up' entertainment. It's closer in resemblance to Duke Nukem than the previous Resident Evil games (which are classics). Although this game is 128 bit, ad has better graphics, etc than the other Res. Evil. games, to rate a game in terms of quality of graphics, ignoring game play is missing the point- this game is just 100% shoot em up mindless entertainment aimed at the masses- there's no running back to the Police Station or Flamming chopper to retrieve the misisng piece of the puzzle, etc- this is a game better suited to the arcades. Also, I would have thought after Metal Gear Solid that computer games would have had far more superior scripts in the 21st century, however this is not the case here- the ending in Resident Evil 4 is perhaps the lamest ending I have ever seen.
