Very good cheap card October 2, 2008 Mr. Thomas G. McDermott (Cheshire, UK) I got this card in April 08 and thus far it's fantastic. For the price it's excellent. I've recently got Spore and it runs it perfectly. Great card for the money, and a good all rounder. Excellent product.
Great value September 30, 2008 Mr. Thomas H. Capper (Hampshire, England) I've had experience with two of these - one was mine, another was a friend's. Be warned that this isn't a card for high resolution, high eye candy gaming. However, it's the perfect solution for a PC that is only occasionally used for gaming, or for a media centre. I was able to run mine at a 200mhz overclock for 9 months without isues, despite the diminutive cooler, and using a 300W unbranded power supply. I used it mainly for gaming on a small CRT monitor. I've sinced upgraded my PC and monitor, and this card now resides happily in the family's office PC. It works a treat for DVD playback, and it's folding rate of 640ppd is modest, but impresive if you compare it to a similarly priced CPU.
GOOD June 2, 2008 Mrs. K. L. Byott hi, brought this from local small PC specialist 49. putting it in was easy, only takes one expansion slot. has its own fan, however i dont hear it. it it brilliant, can now run games like BF2142 on High, Call of Duty 4 on medium and even Crysis on low-medium. however the rest of my computer isnt the equivalent 1.8ghx dual core 1gb ram 305 watt PSU so if your wondering why its struggling its cos of my processor and ram. anyway, it plays games well, especially on my 22" monitor. images are crisp with dvd and video. and even the desktop just looks generally better. buy it, its amazing
Best budget - performance graphics card April 25, 2008 Ilhan Erden (Staines, Middlesex, United Kingdom) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've purchased this 2 weeks ago after I read through the reviews and compared prices. The time spend on the research was well worth it as this is the best budget / high performance combination you can get. Graphics are absolutely stunning. I played COD4 and was amazed with the graphics and performance. Would recommend to anyone, buy it, you won't regret it, except if you're a high profile gamer who's after a more sophisticated product.
Will it work why the price hike? April 9, 2008 I. J. Wilks (Essex UK) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have an off the shelf HP pavillion desktop system that is now starting tho wheeze with modern games (if they run at all) Is this card the answer to all my problems? The last review made me think again regarding power supply requirements. I have a 300 watt power supply and only once you have bought the card do you find out that the minimum spec is 350 watts. Why is this not included in the online product description? Will my power supply cope? Also why has the price gone up in the last week? Help !!
