5 out of 5 stars One Of The Best Games Ever!   December 27, 2008
    Mr. J. Rankin
This is one of the best games ever made. It has a fantastic solo campaign, which is one of the best war games ever. Shows a different side to war than normally shown. Missions are intense and fast paced, veteran is challenging for any gamer. Multiplayers is fantastic, this drew me of halo. However can be very laggy and i had immense trouble trying to first get connected however was simply fixed. However is a must have even with out live enabled. One of the best games made in recent times.

5 out of 5 stars Magnificent Game   December 18, 2008

I am no great lover of first person shooters but this game is the benchmark for future shooters.

The graphics are outstanding, the best you will ever see currently. Sound is superb as is the story. You play alternate levels between the SAS and US Marines. The stories converge at the end.

What is great about this game is not so much the emotive gameplay and atmosphere but the way Infinity Ward seek to keep you, the gamer, immersed in the game. Intuitive controls, rechargeable health, umpteen checkpoints, grenade warnings and relentless action. You play as a team member and the AI is pretty good.

This is undoubtedly the best game I have ever played. Sure it is short but what you get is top quality action. You simply want more of it. Included is a comprehensive on-line service that is second to none. Beware, there are world class marksmen out there.

All in all, if you want to sample what great gaming is all about, this is the game to try. It is a landmark title to which all future FPS's will be compared. The only thing missing is the cover system from Rainbow 6 Vegas.

Do yourself a favour and pick up a copy. The fact that it still holds its price a year on is evidence enough.

In the meantime I will have to wait impatiently for COD 5.

I've had his game for just over a year now, for that year i've been stuck playing this and i think will be for the next year every minute i get free. Amazingly addictive, brilliant online lifespan. A lot better than the new cod5 as well i think.

    5 out of 5 stars COD4   November 14, 2008

when i first heard the COD4 was to be set in modern battle i thought that it would tarnish the reputation of the other COD games. however i am delighted to be wrong the graphics and game play are excellent, you can get so imersed in the game that you suddenly wonder where the day has gone. there is only one problem which is of no really consequence to the overall rating of the game or the game play and that is changing fire modes, no COD game has had it yet and it is really starting to annoy me. but apart from that it is a first rate game.

1 out of 5 stars Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare   November 6, 2008

As a great fan of the WWII series call of duty, I was very dissapointed to see that this one is based in modern times. I really enjoyed Call of Duty 2 and 3 but this just ruined to for me. The graphics are rubbish, the campaign is crap and the multiplayer is even worse since there are no online achievments! Halo 3 is a much better buy!
