ok June 23, 2010 Ms. K. I. N. (UK) Good game but takes a very long time to complete tasks. I found it very calming, relaxing.
Harvest Moon Magical Melody on Wii April 15, 2010 Tinkerbell (Derbyshire, England) What a great game for the money. This was a great buy and my son and I have spent hours on it. Well recommended for the young and old, a great fun game.
Annoyingly addictive - damn it!! March 23, 2010 Steve Kay 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have never before in my life played a "Harvest Moon" game and so had no clue what to expect. I was sitting on my laptop one day, a little bored, browsing amazon for things to buy (to make me less bored), when I happened by "Harvest Moon: Magical Melody".
It's a game that, if you don't know what you're doing, like I didn't, is overwhelming, where the game-play rewards always seem to be just a little out of reach. A game that, had you not spent so long on, would just simply start over; knowing that this time you'll beat your rival, Jamie, to the punch.
As addictive as I have found it, there are many repetitive elements that I can see will soon start grating on my nerves.
I think also; that this may be an import from a previous version on an older console, maybe the gamecube or gameboy, there just seems to be something a little off about it's controls, I'm not sure what exactly, but as an experienced gamer, one can sometimes get an intuitive feel for game controls and this just feels a little cack-handed. Add to that that in some game play the "L" and "R" buttons are mentioned when the Wii doesn't have these, in this case I have found that it means the "+" and "-" buttons on the remote.
All in all a fun little farm-sim with RPG elements at a low price that you will either love to hate or hate to love.
My children love it! January 19, 2010 J. Hunt (U.K.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I brought this game for my children this christmas as it was cheap and we don't have a lot of games for the Wii. I didn't expect a lot but they have played it constantly ignoring the more expensive, newer games they got, ever since. All my kids like it from my 5 yr old to my 14 year old. If it's guns blazing, action packed fun this is not for you, but if you want an easy going, enjoyable game that keeps the kids quiet buy it!!
Gets a bit boring after awhile. October 21, 2009 J. Davies (Lancashire, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like all sorts of games, platformers, shooters, RPGs, drving games and football games. This is a farmer sim, growing crops, looking after livestock and mining as well as fishing and stuff.
But after getting to a certian point, it feels like emptyness as the years on the game goes by and getting married on the game dosen't improve things.
It's a different kind of game, but it gets tiresome after awhile.
