    Product Description

Metallica and Guitar Hero fans rejoice: Guitar Hero: Metallica has landed for PlayStation 3. Like Guitar Hero: Aerosmith before it, Guitar Hero: Metallica will focus on the career and songs of Metallica. With 28 Metallica songs and 21 other songs that influenced the band, fans will love playing guitars, drums, and singing vocals alongside Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, and Robert Trujillo.

Follow the Career of Metallica and Play as Your Own Upstart
Guitar Hero: Metallica is similar to Guitar Hero World Tour in that you play a full suite of instruments. When the game starts, you're the new band on the block with aspirations of opening for Metallica. The game goes back and forth between performances by Metallica and performances of songs that influenced Metallica by your band. The band was motion captured so you'll recognize their unique motions on screen and style of playing.

As you progress in the game, you'll start to unlock bonus features such as videos of old Metallica performances, backstage photos, and "Metallifacts," which enables different trivia to show up while a song is playing, similar to VH1's Pop-Up Video.

Metallica Recordings from Original Masters and More Via Download
Guitar Hero: Metallica features 49 songs in total, 28 Metallica songs, and 21 songs that are favourites of the band and have influenced them. The Metallica songs are sourced from original masters so you'll have the best audio quality available. You'll also be able play downloadable content from their latest album, Death Magnetic.

Game Difficulty Goes from One All The Way Up to Eleven
Metallica exhibit technical prowess while performing, and this game goes from Beginner all the way to Expert Plus difficulty. Hardcore gamers will not be disappointed. You'll have to play guitars, drums, and sing, and in the "Expert Plus" difficulty, you'll have to plug i

Simply said, if you love Guitar Hero, and you love Metallica, you'll love this game. My experience on the game is limited to drumming, however I assume the guitar modes are equally intense on the harder levels.

Based on the engine used for GH: World Tour, the game feels a little dated, especially if you've played the later additions to the series. However, it does not take very long to get used to the new interface and before you know it feels like the default again.

The graphics are good, old Metallica fans will recognize some of the venues from VHS/DVS past (or from your own memory if you were so lucky). The motion capture has been done brilliantly, from Lars Ulrich resting his foot upon the drum stool; looking on knowingly, to Robert Trujillo's manic spinning bass technique to James Hetfield's animated vocalization.

There are some nifty extras, including some behind the scenes and some rare concert footage. You can download the full track listing of Death Magnetic into the game which is quite a nice touch but to be honest I would have rather had a mix of some of my favourite Metallica tracks which were not included in the game.

Overall it's a very enjoyable game, either playing alone or with friends at a party or online. It makes an excellent addition to the Guitar Hero series. Unless of course you think Metallica are rubbish, then you will probably hate it.

Hi If you are into Rock Band type gaming and also like Metallica - you will love this. Great game with pretty good graphics
Easy enough at the beginning and the later stages can get quite difficult, I personally love the music so have a ball while playing it. Recommended - however if you like Girls Aloud - AVOID.

This is a great game! You can find the best songs of Metallica!!! The band mode is awasome!!!
For Italian users, the blu-ray contains also Italian language.

    Hello,

This game is real fun when you get started, because you really have the feeling you are playing heavy riffs on your guitar, and the plastic guitar seems heavier than ever !
Little bad point : the global gameplay is a bit too low in quality to me. The songs could have been chosen differently (not all songs, just some of them)and some songs just don't have a place in a game like this one : Turn The Page - Bob Seger, in which you play exactly the same part during 5 minutes !!!!!!
Great choice instead concerning Machine Head's Beautiful Mourning : this definitely ROCKS

5 out of 5 stars gh metallica   August 5, 2009

wow...what a game..a must have in the gh series..i no its always been about the game play but graphically this game has blown the other gh games away..and you can play every song in quick play..no completing the game first..ok its a metallica fan must but there are plenty of songs by other bands to keep you playing..it is a touch harder than the other gh games tho..but nothing you cant handle..any gh fan will love this..and get hours of fun as u can use all instraments..pretty damb cool.
