    4 out of 5 stars SBK '08 - v - MotoGP '08   January 8, 2009
    Womble
I got MotoGP first and loved it, especially the fact that that you had to build up your carrer through 125cc and 250cc. Did not like the fact that you were limited to only 5 seasons. It is difficult, as it should be and I don't know how it could be made more realistic to actually racing a bike.

SBK came my way and it is both superior and inferior to MotoGP. The realism of riding is almost identical although your back wheel spins up far more easily in this game. There is large amount of time spent in the pit lane garage which I can imagine will annoy those who just want to press the triggers as hard as possible. The available settings in SBK is far more varied (and complicated if you want it to be) and there is far more practice sessions before the actual race. The weather can turn on you during each race meeting (just like real life) which it doesn't in MotoGP.

I was slightly disappointed that there is no Supersport prelude like the 125 & 250 in MotoGP.

Do opt for the tutorial seesions if you have not experienced this type of racing before although, if like me you have, you can bypass it and go straight to the racing.

I don't feel the graphics are as good as MotoGP, but SBK is better in terms of annoying little things that happen in MotoGP. There is nowhere near, if any, as much stupid, non-sensical bike collisions in warm-up laps etc. MotoGP suffers from some miraculous and totally "impossible" saves from the competition during the races. I have not noticed this in SBK. If you push a rider out wide, even onto the grass or gravel, he stays behind you unlike in MotoGP where he can suddenly appear inside you going even faster.

It really is 6 of one, half a dozen of the the other. Both are worth the money and I enjoy both eaqually. Solution? Rent them both and make your own mind up, or like me buy both anyway.

Why on earth does Sony allow games like this to be released on the PS3 format, it just further supports the argument that most of my friends have that the Xbox may not be as powerful but hell they have better games. I was thoroughly disappointed spending yet another 40 on a game, oh well at least I've got a blu-ray player!!!!

Well, i am a huuuge bike fan and I was looking forward to this game. And I was quite dissapointed really.

    GRAPHICS:
Good graphics, just a shame about realism!
    4/5
    REALISM:
Not great at all, I was exspecting and hoping it too be relistic so its just like actually racing. But it isn't. It dont feel that realistic at all!!
    2/5
    GAMEPLAY:
    Ok, very average.
    3/5
    Finnally GAME MODES/ FEATURES:
Not Great, Championship modes ok but get boring after a while. Its annoyin that you cant do split screen. And you can only play online. With online this game would be rubbish!! It wont be long before you start being addicted to it, but for a short while, Then it gets BORING!! It wont be long till you stop playing this game.
    3/5
    SUMMARY:
ONLY get this game if your a Big superbike fan.

    Thanks for reading

1 out of 5 stars the worst game I've bought for years   November 10, 2008

    SBK-08: World Superbike 2008 (PS3)
Avoid this game, I was shocked, it's nowhere near the quality it should be for the PS3 in 2008. It was an impulse buy reserved on pre-release. The menu screens are amateur and clunky, the gameplay is difficlut and unrewarding when compared to the MotoGP series on the PS2 and things like Tourist Trohpy, the graphics are a few years behind the times and it's not worth it. I knew within 5 minutes that I had made a very bad decision. Thank you Amazon for accepting this game back for a refund, sorry I bought it.
