Amazon.co.uk Review The Game Boy is that small, colourful hand-held video game system clutched by folks playing it everywhere. Popular among a wide age group, including a good number of airport-lounging power executives, theGame Boy has a true hard-core fan base comprising millions (and millions) of kids around the globe.Nintendo's Game Boy debuted in the late 1980s and has since sold over 60 million units world-wide, far outpacing other hand-held game systems. With a catalogue of over 1,000 games and dozens of add-on peripherals, Game Boy is a monster of a hand-held game system, and a remarkably affordable one at that. Early March 1998 brought the release of the Game Boy Colour system, an upgraded version of the original. It is equipped with an 8-bit CPU, doubling the original Game Boy's computing power. The small LCD screen can display up to 56 colours simultaneously (out of a 32,000-color palette), delivered via boosted video processing memory that provides remarkably sharp and vibrant graphics. The hundreds of available games vary from tremendously compelling to instantly forgettable. Quality or not, the entire library of games designed for the original system is playable on Game Boy Colour, but buyers should note that not all Game Boy Colour games will work on the original Game Boy system. The Game Boy Colour system is available in an exotic array of colours and special editions. Accessories and add-on peripherals abound, enhancing the playing experience with vibrating feedback to in-game bumps and crashes, extra battery power and even a clever camera package that allows players to capture, tweak and print images.

Gameboy September 6, 2010 Rob My son thinks its great, although he would like to find more games for it on the second hand market as Gamestation do not appear to stock it.
blast from the past August 18, 2010 R. H. Leonard (Scotland) bought for my eldest son and he enjoys playing it as much as first time around
A true classic October 15, 2009 S. Ghanimeh 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purely bought the Lime Green GBC for my sister who absolutely loves the colour. Not just that though, she loves the GBC so I have a feeling this will be a great hit as a Christmas present (Y) The GB brings back fun memories of all the RPG's we have.
I received the hand held 2 days after I ordered it so I am pleased with the service. Also it is in good condition minus a couple of minor scratches on the screen but are in no way a hindrance to play time. I'll admit I was concerned there wouldn't be a back for the batteries but I am there is. Though I was quite surprised batteries were included (not saying I didn't want there to be). The only thing I would have liked to have seen is that it came with a box, not the original packaging but just something as assurance. Not to worry though, it is only a minor insignificant berate.
Nonetheless the sound quality is great, the screen is smooth and the colour is perfect. An overall great package to a favourite and timeless classic.
Awesome, classic piece of equipment! May 22, 2009 Ryan Boyce (Ipswich) When I was younger, I had an original Gameboy (the big grey one), and I always wanted a Gameboy Color. Now that I finally have one, it's like being a kid again! Personally, handheld gaming can't get better than this. The graphics may not be great, but that isn't everything. It has so many classic games, like Pokemon, Mario, Kirby etc. Overall, GBC is an absolute classic, and the best there ever will be.
Very Poor. May 15, 2009 A. E. Talbot 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
The item was delivered very quickly. But the item was said to be in good condition. But gameboy buttons do not work, theres no cover on back, all taped up. No charger, so not able to work. Very unhappy with item, as little boy very disappointed, as he has spent his pocket money and nothing works.
