This is a great product at a reasonable price. Just plug it in and away you go! It works well with FSX and FS2004. A great buy.

Such a well made item for the money.. I remember buying a Microsoft joystick for £100 years ago and this easily matches it (but without force fedback as an option). I don't miss that to be honest. I do love the multi button layouts, the compatibility with IL2 Birds of Prey is excellent (apart from a wide deadzone in the throttle -a game fault I think).
If you love Flight Sims its a must have as it works equally well on PC by flicking a switch on the unit.

I had a joystick and decided to look for something with a little more precision.
Read a few reviews and decided on the Thrustmaster.
With it's delicate control (treat it like a lady) it worked beautiful with all my flight sims.
It sits quiet solid on the desk top and once you get used to the controls makes a different ball game on the sims alot smoother action.
I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to experience simulator flying.

 Got After Burner Climax? GET THIS! May 6, 2010

So far all the reviews here have been for flight sims, but I bought this stick in the hope of recreating the After Burner Climax arcade expirience in my front room. And it did not dissapoint me, no sir. Dear me no. Not on your nelly. Not by a long chalk. Etc. I digress...
The stick itself: this is a lovely, rugged feeling flight stick. You can adjust the tension in the main stick and map/assign the buttons and axis to your pleasure. Meaning the Hotas X has you covered for whatever you want to play with it, even if the game you want wasn't designed with it in mind. The cable is not quite long enough for me, but as it's a USB device extensions leads are easy to get hold of. It's responsive and comfortable too.
I tried the stick out with the arcade version of Space Harrier on the PS3 Sega Megadrive Collection and found that pounding the trigger wasn't quite as satisfying as button mashing on an arcade stick. But it still beats seven bells out of using a dual shock 3 or sixaxis controller when it comes to that authentic arcade feel.
After Burner: there is some rubbish on the internet saying this stick is not compatible with After Burner Climax. Ignore that, here's how you do it:
Plug the Hotas X into the PS3 and navigate the XMB to launch the game.
On the game menu, navigate to the help and options page and change the control type to the B or 2nd setting. Both sticks should now function properly.
NOTE: this game only seems to work with the controller that launches it and even controller reassignement doesn't seem to work once the game has started. So if you don't launch the game with the Hotas X it ain't gonna work for you chum!
Overall, this is an excellent device and right now the price represents great value over the original rrp. If you own any flight game for the PS3 this is the only UK stick you can get for the full control expirience, but it's more then up to the job. It simply transforms the enjoyment of flying on the PS3. So get one.
