not half bad August 31, 2010 not half bad Not bad at all. I thought some matches (money in the bank) where very very long I played a match which lasted 5 hours! (stupid big show winning) well the matches you had a hole lot of choice from tlc to hell in a cell to tornado tag steel cage. The graphics where pretty bad compared to xbox and playstation 3 and some moves where unrealistic (MR kennedy picking up the big show then doing a suplex?) not gonna happen.if you can get it get it if your stuck between to games you will probably like the other one better;)
brilliant game May 18, 2010 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
i'm 8 years old and love wrestling and i love this game looking forward to smackdown vs raw 2011!!!
Better then last year, but still not Here Comes The Pain February 16, 2010 Mr. I. Black (Gloucester) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ok, i have every single Smackdown game since it came onto PS2, so like many of you i've noticed the one year good, one year bad scenario with the game. 09 was bad in comparison to 08. Why? Road to Wrestlemania was surposed to give you more choice in the season mode so you didn't repeat the same storylines over and over again. (What JBL is buying the title again? etc etc), the tag team stuff just didn't work because WWE don't care about tag teams, so there was DX and Hardy's and ... who else really? And the Wii controller system is all wrong with thrusts and flicking infront of your TV (Make your own jokes, this is a PG review).
2010 then i supposed to be the good game then? It is so close. The design your own storyline. Cool! Dsign your own Finisher. Cool! The system that your create your own characters attributes improve dependant on how well you wrestle and type of match. Always cool! Rivals and allies for run ins. Cool! better Royal rumble mini games. Cool! Actually being able to use a control pad. Very cool!
So what makes it so close, and even has carlito saying "Thats not cool!". Road to Wrestlemania. Same amount of choice it seems as season mode previously, and for a shorter amount of time. Less characters again for you to do a season with, cause of course Cena, HHH and Taker have to have another Road.
Buy this game people, but know you will get bored quickly. If THQ have sence they will go back to Season mode, and GM mode (Hopefully where you can book matches), we'll have a bad 2011, but 2012 will be awesome.

Great as usual, flawed as usual December 26, 2009 Abe Stranger (Leeds West Yorkshire) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had a version of every Smackdown game to date including all three released on Wii. Each time there's been glitches, some annoying (commentators talking about people who aren't even in the match.. although they do that on TV, they don't do it as if the person is in the current match) some weird (teleportation) those problems haven't really showed themselves this time, there have been some things that partially spoiled it for me.
Most of all there is a rather bad bug in some copies- the one I have, and I hear even some copies on other formats. This occurs in the Road to Wrestlemania mode, namely the one for the create-a-wrestler, where you are required to create a customised wrestler, and at one point you are required to win a Royal rumble match. This in itself can take several attempts, but the real problem is that after this match-every time I tried, and also when I accomplished the same feat with a created wrestler in career mode- the game froze, and didn't load the next screens forcing me to turn it off at the mains. After some searching I found out that there is a way around this, which is to set the character's moveset to the default until it saves after the Rumble. For some reason this fixes it, but it defeats the point of a customisable character.
This version is very different from the previous Wii versions but it ends up looking less short-changed next to previous versions than before. The controls are significantly different, with no motion controls, but 3 different options- either Wiimote and Nunchuk, Classic controller or Gamecube pad. I use a Gamecube pad and it works great. There is no online mode unlike 2009's version which is a shame but there are tons of new matches and modes to make up for it, with new moves such as finishers to eliminate people from the royal rumble, and the option to get onto the apron and dive at opponents.
There is a lack of options in the create a finisher mode and story designer, but they are pretty good for new modes. There are more Divas (women!) than before, and for once I've actually felt inclined to play as them, but there are far less match options for them, with only the mixed tag match having the option to have men and women wrestling together and even then it's a disqualification for a man to hit a woman. Not that I'm into that, but it limits match options more than before, and seems to just be a part of WWE's half hearted attempts to bring itself into a 'PG era' featuring middle aged men making fun of the vertically challenged, and the only woman who is wider than a toothpick being teased about her weight. Thankfully those two elements didn't make it into the game, and I hope the writers have grown up before the next one is due.
