I bought this for my son, who'd wrecked the hinges on his DS. The instructions that come with the product tell you to watch a couple of videos on youtube before starting. What they don't tell you is that the videos only show you how to disassemble your DS. They don't show you how to put it back together again. It took my very competent husband a good couple of nerve-wracking hours with a few written instructions saying things to the effect that "if you get this bit wrong, your DS won't work anymore." The replacement screens were just too fiddly to contemplate so he still has the red frames from his old machine. It has worked and my son is delighted, but it would not have been worth it if his DS hadn't become so floppy that it was almost unusable. It certainly wouldn't be worth it just because you fancied a change as the risk of breaking the machine is too high.
